“place called home”
“One day I know there’ll be a place for us.” (PJ Harvey)
Freiburg im Breisgau is my adopted home since many years now. When I translated Dom Famularo this year at the Days of Percussion Italy, he was talking about his fontain of youth. Freiburg is my fontain of inspiration and my place to be.
The combination of beeing a cosmopolitan city as well as a grounded small one, makes Freiburg very much worth living – especially when you are a traveling percussionist.
The nature around the city is pleasant, the Musikhochschule Freiburg is a Hochschule with a very high level and they do wonderful concerts, there are a lot of “smaller” cultural projects and “bigger” ones.
Last but not least I am happy to be able to perfom and be hired in the context of local and regional events.
Here are some links of the things I did in the region:
This is a list of some articles about “Musikalische Umrahmungen”, “Kulturprojekte” and concerts, which I performed or framed with percussion and marimba sounds – here in the region:
And last but not least an interview in German which I did with Ursula Thoma-Stein for “Republic of Culture – Freiburg”:
